The machine shop holds a few hundred people - -its tiny -- -and everyone is surprised when Canadians show up - -- I live in Sarnia - -its only an hour drive - -but when you tell people that you are from Canada they think you have drove for days. I have not seen Chevelle there - I am amazed that they would play such a small venue - - I have seen Taproot there - - bring ear plugs - - you will have ringing for days - - -We are staying at the Super 8 Motel - -5 minutes away - -where are you guys staying?
For any who'll be seeing Chevelle for the first time, you are in store for the best live performance in the present day! My daughter and I were very fortunate to talk to Pete after their Boston, 07, performance on Lansdowne St. Here's some insight into Pete.... when my (then) 15 year old daughter asked if she could give him a hug, Pete looked to me and said, "Sure, if it's ok with your Mom.". That is what, in Yiddish, we call a, " mensch", which means, ... "A Human Being" ...."a person of Dignity and Honor". There offers a window into the way the Loeffler brothers were brought up to be, mensch's, and Dean, who we also saw, undoubtedly is the same. That must be one component as to why Chevelle unflinchingly explores thought provoking subjects in their songs. Bleak, and even sublime imagery isn't off limits, as Chevelle dares us to think. Their oft hard driving melodies are supreme, and if Pete was singing in Chinese, it would provide more than enough musically to keep them above the fray. *** Michigan; Give it up for Chevelle! ***. They give their all for you when they're not an also ran, like the dreadful billing while touring w/ Staind and Shinedown. It was rotten Chevelle sing a few songs and leave. I wouldn't want to do that again. Not to end on a downer, The Sci-Fi Crimes tour promises to be great! >> God bless Chevelle and their fans.
Just bought tickets on Etix.com for $33 for The Machine Shop gig. Why are other sites selling them for like $270?? I feel like there is something wrong there?

Cannot wait to see Chevelle again at The Machine Shop on Sunday! It's going to be an awesome show! There are even really good opening bands too.
ARAZI (www.myspace.com/arazimusic)
and
JANUS (www.myspace.com/janus)
I've seen both of these bands before too and they're very good.
And for those of you that haven't been, The Machine Shop is absolutely one of the BEST venues to see a concert......you will love it!! See you all on Sunday!!
I want to start off by saying that I LOVE Chevelle!! I'm going to the show in Flint, but I'm a little worried about something. I'm worried that I will be the oldest fricking person in the place!! Those of you who have been to a show or two, what's the crowd like? I'm going no matter what, but I'm nervous! This is my first show. I've been to other concerts in bigger places, but nothing this small and close. Also, I wanted to say that I'm really surprised at how many of you are coming into Flint from so far away!! I only live about 40 minutes away. I wanted to see Chevelle at the DTE earlier this summer but I was too slow getting tickets and it sold out! When I saw they were coming to Flint I got tickets right away!
Coming from Toronto, Canada to take part in this ass kicking show is one I shall never forget!
Not only did we travel 4.5 hours to make it to the show but we also got to experience our First Chevelle Concert, They totally kicked ass! and Inregards to the ear plug thing...well it was loud; but it was rock I didn't see any need for them cause the fans were just wicked...The ENTIRE SHOW WAS AWESOME.....
1) If you havent seen a gig at The Machine Shop....... U SUX!
2) If you never got to see Chevelle at The Machine Shop.......too bad, so sad, don't cry dry your eye's and you better be there next F^&%ing TIME!
The set list kicked ass, and as one gent said below, they are some really low down to life kinda guys...THEY SO ROCKED!
No doubt about it, when they go back to The Machine Shop......I will be driving 4.5 hours to go see them kick my ass but not only that I will bring a s***e load of loud Canucks cause this venue is just INSANE!!!!
CHEVELLE, WHEN ARE YOU GUYS COMING TO A VENUE IN TORONTO????????
Rocked hard and loud, i'm out............. 'Where did these f'n flys come from'.........Jokes!
This was my first time seeing Chevelle and my first time seeing a band at such a small venue. I came all the way from Cobourg, Ont. to see Chevelle... Gotta say, it was freakin' amazing... I was smiling the whole time. I eventually got shoved and pulled up to the front, and I'm pretty sure I almost wet my pants.... no wait, that was just sweat... Chevelle is definitely one of my fave bands and I can't wait to see them again!! The Machine Shop is an awesome place to see such a great band and I will definitely go back. The crowd was awesome for the most part... some miserable looking people in the front row... what's up with that?!? The boys put on a great show, what else can I say? Overall, one of the top shows I've seen... Thanks, Chevelle... Until next time...
This was my first time seeing Chevelle and also my first time at the Machine Shop and I have to say that I had the best f****** time of my LIFE!!! Chevelle was so awesome! I was lucky enought to have cought a t-shirt that bananna 101.5 threw out AND the water bottle cap that one of the boys from Chevelle threw out as they were walking off the stage!!! I loved everything about the whole night there except the dick head that bulldozed his ass up to the stage by shoving and pushing girls out of the way left and right! If it wasn't for the nice guy behind me I would have really fallen hard! Literally made my neck crack he shoved me so hard! I know Chevelle is awesome, but to rough up a girl to get to the stage? c'mon! I will DEFINATELY be going back to see other bands at the Machine Shop in the future! One more thing about the earlier post reguarding wearing earplugs...Yeah it was really loud, but I think wearing earplugs would have taken away from the whole experience. My ears had a hissing sound until tuesday, but hey, that's a price I'm willing to pay for kick ass music like THAT!!!
Simply put: Chevelle Rules, and The Machine Shop in Flint is the best place to experience Rock music period. I cant wait til they come back but I will if they make me. Yay Flint!
