Another fantastic, purely Chevelle song. Nice and heavy, crunchy riffs, head bobbing rhythms, catchy chorus...An all-around kickass and memorable song. I'm so pumped for "Hats Off to the Bull" and I have a feeling this is just a taste of what's to come. AHHH!!! I CAN'T WAIT MUCH LONGER!!!

I have every Chevelle album and like virtually every single one of their songs, but for some reason "Envy" has set itself apart from the rest for me. I always attempt to find the hidden gems in Chevelle's new albums (or attempt to find the next "big" song). I'm not sure "Envy" will be that song, but for me it has risen to the top of my list.

it's an honor listening to your album since 2002. and this album is well worth the wait. i can't wait to play my own music. can't wait to see you all live.

Album was not too bad... Although i must say I didnt hear any tunes that really popped out. I guess i was hoping for more of a "Wonder What's Next" type of album... I haven't really heard alot of screaming since "this type of thinking (could do us in). I miss songs like: Emotional Drought, Get Some, Still Running or Family System, Pete's screaming tops all others and i miss it.

I LOVE THIS ALBUM!!! I've only been a fan of Chevelle for about a year now, but that doesn't mean I don't know good music when I hear it. The album that really did me in with these guys was Wonder What's Next and I've been hooked ever since. After my experience with WWN, I've explored their other albums and have never been disappointed with any of them. I've been anticipating this album ever since I heard about its expected release date from this past summer. It's a great new addition to my Chevelle collection! The only thing I'm missing music wise from these guys is there first album, Point #1! My personal favorites from the album include Face to the Floor, Ruse, The Meddler, and Revenge, but I also love all of their other stuff! Buy the whole album for yet another amazing performance by Chevelle!

This album is amazing! There is nothing that can make this album better. Sure, it's not "Wonder What's Next", but if bands made every song the same, the music would get boring. When everyone else fell soft and went mainstream, Chevelle stood up and fought for true rock. Hats off to Chevelle for releasing a great record (i my opinion, one of the best!) There is not one track on this CD that is not worth listening to! Anyway, now i'm going to break down every track.

1. Face To The Floor 9/10: The album starts off with a slap in the face, also known as "Face to the Floor". The song starts off with a memorable guitar riff, which progresses throughout the song. The chorus is catchy, and the interlude is awesome. Chevelle did a good job by starting the record off with this song. It definitely grabs your attention.
2. Same Old Trip 8/10: "Same Old Trip" is a track that is almost perfect. The only problem, is that I personally do not like Pete's voice in the chorus, although the duet really balances it out. One of the harder tracks on the album.
3. Ruse 10/10: One of the best songs by Chevelle, period! The song starts with a slow, medolic tune that grabs you by the shoulders and shakes you around to wake you up. Then, it hits you with an awesome verse, driven by Dean's sick bassline. The chorus explodes into beautiful singing, and mezmerizing guitar riffs. The solo is what tops this song off. Insanely high notes in a progressive order hit this instant classic out of the park!
4. The Meddler 9/10: This song definitely brings back "This Type of Thinking". It's verses are calm and smooth, and the chorus is distorted and heavy. The song is very exceptional track that you find yourself head banging to every time.
5. Pinata 10/10: The "Wonder What's Next" of the album .The song starts off in beast mode, and the verses leave you speechless. The chorus is purely meant for you to catch your breath, with soft, undistorted tones. The solo is like a jetstream that pushes you back in your seat. Very impressive track.
6. Envy 8/10: A clone of "Panic Prone", this track starts off slow and steady. Incredible effects push the chorus with echoes and tremolos. When the distortion kicks in, The song becomes a powerbomb of intensity. Medolic notes fade the song out, thus creating a very descent softer track.
7. Hats Off To The Bull 10/10: This song sounds like it came out of a mobster movie. Loud bass tones give the verses a really rugged edge, and the fast paced chorus makes you want to break something. The interlude is one of the best i've ever heard, and the solo with the talk box blows you away. A very explosive track.
8. Arise 8/10: This one had to grow on me. The intro creates a new sound, not usuallt heard from Chevelle, although it is catchy. The verses have very distorted bass, and high pitched guitars, which in turn sound really good. Descent track, although there's not much to say about it.
9. Revenge 11/10: What does "Revenge" and a punch to the stomach have in common? They both knock the wind out of you! Guitar and bass provide a Tool-like sound to the verses, and the lyrics are some of the most impressive i've ever heard. The chorus is heavy, but at the same time medolic, because of Pete's vocal layering. Tremolo effects prove to be a worthy addition to this track, bringing a unique sound to the table. Chevelle definitely did some experimenting with this track, and it really worked out in their favor. I'm suprised to say that this song has became my new favorite by Chevelle!
10. Prima Donna 8/10: I'm usually not a fan of acoustic tracks, but with "Prima Donna", i'm willing to make an exception. The song really has an eastern feelto it. Kudos to Chevelle for making a dominant acoustic track.
11. Clones 10/10: Hard-driven the whole way, "Clones" is the finishing blow of the album. Heavily distorted riffs provide the song with an intense edge to the end. The unusual "Chorus-Verse-Chorus-Verse" pattern is a real change up that gives the song a unique sound. A perfect closing track for the album.

Awesome album! Although Pete's screaming was EPIC, It's cool that Chevelle changed the game. Every song on the album is brilliant, and (prepare for shock), "Revenge' has become my new favorite Chevelle song. It proves that a song doesn't need to be hardcore to kick arse! The album really stands out from all the other albums that so-called "Rock artists" are putting out. I am angry that I have yet to hear "Face to the Floor" on the radio! How can you not play such a great song? Anyway, this album gets a 10/10, and "Revenge" gets 11/10!

I really like this album. My favorite song by far is Pinata... the lyrics are so full of emotion and amazing, the chorus is flirty and intriguing, the guitar solo is some of pete's best guitar work I've heard, I am really looking forward to hearing this song live. I love how you can see the emotion in Pete's face when they are on stage and I think this song will kick so much ass live... I can't wait! new albums=new tours so hurry up to Knoxville, TN or Asheville, NC!!!

This album is as raw and punchy as ever. Your songwriting is impeccable and it seems to age like fine wine. Staying true to who you are as a band is an obvious formula for success; and for that, I salute you. Another amazing album!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this album, I can't stop listening to it. I downloaded my album from iTunes, but I also always like to have a hard copy, so I went to Best Buy, the bonus track "Glimpse of the Con" (which is listed on Amazon as "Glimpse of the Sun") is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!! If you don't have it-check it out. It is a slower tempo song, but Pete's voice is indescribable. It shows the incredible vocal talent he really has. I have an hour commute to and from work and that song was on repeat! It makes me float!

I love this album, my most favorite is Envy along with The meddler. CHEVELLE ROCKS!!!!

For years I have anticipated every new album,(even since Peer #1, which for some reason isnt listed in the discography) and what you guys will do with it. Still hands down Vena Sera is the best in my opinion. However, what I can appreciate is that with each new album you guys grow up with the fans, each album becoming a more mature version of the band. I can honestly say that this album has had to grow on me a little more so than the others. But the more I listen the more attached to the music I become. Pete you are one of the best song writers/lyricists that I have experienced with in my generation of music. I think you guys are beyond the curve of what is now, as always, pave the way for what is to become. Awesome album. Orange Peel in Asheville NC is waiting for your return.

Love this new album especially The Meddler

The Meddler and Revenge are my 2 favorites. The lyrics and rhythm rock. Both of these songs kick a**. Hats off and Face to the Floor clasic Chevelle. Ruse, Rise and Clone not too bad either. STL MO.

Great Album. One of the Best. I love the mix of the harder rock and the softer sides. It really shows Pete's vocal abilities. (Which give me chills) One of those bands that you can love forever.

I'm in love with the poetic lyrics. The New album is awesome! It is clear on how much dedication is being put on every song they write.

You guys nailed this album. Every song is an individual masterpiece. It's rare for me to love every song on an album, but this is one the rare ones for me. Best album of 2011 and one of my favorites overall. Congratulations!

I've grown older and listening to hard driving rock has always been my taste since I was young. When I first heard Face To The Floor, I asked a buddy, "who the F is that?". "It's from the new Chevelle" he says. Bought it, dig it! The whole disk is bad ass, 1,4,7,13 are my favs.

There's nothing I appreciate more than this kind of sound out of a three piece band. Love the look, the vocals (not too much screaming) and the hard driving rhythm and unbelievable bass.Shaun Morgan and Seether are another fav but the last album didn't do it for me...this does it for me!. Keep it up fellas, can't wait to see you in Dallas. HATS OFF TO THE BOYS!

Another brilliant album. Thats just what I am coming to expect from each and every Chevelle installment. They just keep getting better and better...don't stop...never stop. Awesome 12/10
