This is probably my favorite album. I only say 'probably' because I love Wonder What's Next, I don't know which one I listen to more. Anyway... every single song covers a different strength the band has, and the album ties all that in with some powerful vocals. Pete has such a captivating tone, I could never get tired of hearing him sing. Can't wait to see you guys this summer back home in Chicago!
I listen to every song on this album, and all chevelle's other albums. I love this album and when I first heard it I thought it couldn't get any better than this, I wasn't really wrong or right. The next album Vena Sera would be my favorite if someone put a gun to my head and made me choose. Anyway this album was and still is exciting to listen to. The guitar riffs are unique, the drums make me scratch my head at how he does it, bass is mixed in perfectly, and the vocals deliver the amazing lyrics in a hauntingly smooth fashion. I gotta go, all this typing about the album has me ready to sit back and listen.
This album is just so great! It's a little heavier than Wonder What's Next, giving it that Vena Sera sound. The clicher is one of my top 3 favorite Chevelle songs, so I think it's the best opening song for an album ever. After The Clincher, it keeps on going with Get Some and Vitamin R and Still Running. Then it slows down a little with Breach Birth and Panic Prone and picks right back up with Tug of War. The only reason why I give this album 4 stars is because after Panic Prone, the songs aren't very good, just in my opinion. I mean, Tug of War is a good rock song, but I don't really care for anything after that. Awesome album though, a MUST HAVE for any rock fan!
This album rocks hard core....freakin love get some.....every album Chevelle releases is absolutely magnificent- never any songs I just don't like. I'm a die hard Pink Floyd fan and even they have some songs I don't like and Tool too, but not Chevelle!!!! Everything is just so perfect and relative and kick ass!!
I thought that Wonder Whats Next was unreachable but I was surprised when this album came out, I remember that I was listening to the previews and inmediatly bought the album. And yeah, the first 6 songs are the best of the album, the others are very good but they are just not The Clincher, Get Some, Vitamin R, Still Running, Breach Birth and Panic Prone.
Chevelle gave the answer to this qeustion? Because all the buble gum music thats out now can never compete with these guys.
This was my first Chevelle CD and it brought me in as soon as I herd Pete's voice. It gave me chills on the back of my neck.
It realy touched me. I could never say one bad thing about these guys because they brought Hard Rock Back......
Keep up th good music
James Barfield
This album was unreal. "Still Running", To me, Was the most catchy song on here. with it's single note tremlo picking and chilling riffs. but all in all from "The Clincher" to "Bend The Bracket" you absolutely cannot change tracks when listening to this album
This is one of the few hard rock albums I own that I can listen to over & over again.
I really like WWN but this is far & above that album as good as it was.
TTOT is the very best of chevelle Imo. I keep waiting for TTOT2 when I know I shouldn't.
It has depth & subtilities in the music that's not present in Vena Sera & Sci-Fi Crimes.
This album just has everything that I like about Chevelle all the way down to the album cover
It was a hard decision for a while which was the best Chevelle album but This Type of Thinking (Could Do Us In) definitely takes the cake. Out of all the albums, this one has a constantly biting nature that clinches you at The Clincher and doesn't let go even after the end. Every song is deeply gripping with an overall theme that deeply haunts you. It has the best flow out of all any Chevelle record, some of the most heavy and badass riffs, and clearly dark and chilling vocals. Everything about this album is untouchable and it will forever live on as a classic.
I love every song on this album but, the ones i like the most are, The Clincher, Another Know It All, Still Running, and my all time favorite Tug-O-War
i love all of the songs on this album its hard to choose a favorite from this album or any of their albums for that matter but ill have to say Tug-Of-War has to be up in my top! =]
Amazing album, you guys make some of the best music I have ever heard, and I listen to all music from the 60's to now, and ya'll are in my top 5 bands of all time. Keep up the good work. P.S. COME TO DALLAS!!!! Please. Sincerely, Your Lifetime Fan, Awesome Possum
First time I heard this album I was immediately in love with it!! Some songs and artists take some time to grow on you but chevelles one of those bands where theres no need for that!

THIS album was more advanced then it was given credit for they were.... at that time competing with what genre at that time DO YOU REMEMBER??? I DONT,,,,, CHEVELLE IS IN THE DISCUSSION for best instrumental and lyrics to fit EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Masterpiece, a very meaningful album to me that contains the Power of Chevelle. The band is like no other and they continue to make great albums like this one. My favourite song from Chevelle and from this album is Panic Prone. I cannot believe that this song was not played on Toronto radio (I never heard it). The rest of the album is filled with great songs: Get Some, The Clincher, Vitamin R and the list goes on. Check out my reviews for Panic Prone. Any Canadian Chevelle fans out there that are dying to see Chevelle in Canada?
Chevelle. Chevelle. Chevelle, what else can you do to make this album any better? You can't. It's amazing.
This album gave off a big heavy sound by the first second of the song. I loved the lyrics in this album, vocals were amazing, energy in this song made me want to rock out. I wish I found out this album earlier. [: My favorite track; no hesitation. Still Running. Love that song. I also loved.. all of them can't chose.
This album is soo sick! Every song blows you away. "Emotional Drought" is my favorite off the album, although my 3rd favorite by Chevelle (1st: Revenge 2nd: Ruse). Spectacular album all the way throughout! 5 Stars!
I absolutely love that Chevelle re-recorded "Still Running", and "The Clincher". I have these two song as bonus mystery tracks on "Wonder What's Next" and I love the changes they made. Story of my life = Still Running.
These guys....I swear! They literally cannot make a bad album, song, whatever. I think they have passed Breaking Benjamin for me, and if you knew me, you would know that is HUGE!!! I can't get enough of their music.
